Grant Funding
UPDATED (28-03-2026)
Current Grants & Incentives
There are a number of government incentives, finance options, and discounts currently available that can help reduce the cost of installing renewable energy systems in your home or business.
Solar PV & Battery Storage
- 0% VAT on Solar PV – Introduced in 2022, the UK government removed all VAT on residential solar PV installations, making solar systems significantly more affordable for homeowners. This 0% VAT relief is currently scheduled to run until March 2027.
- 0% VAT on Battery Storage (EESS) – In February 2024, the VAT exemption was extended to include stand-alone battery storage systems. This means batteries installed with or without solar panels currently benefit from 0% VAT, also scheduled to run until March 2027.

If someone has recommended Spectra Solar to you, you could receive a discount on your installation.

- Lloyds Bank – Provides £750 cashback on solar installations through their Eco Home Hub scheme.
- Halifax – Offers up to £1,000 cashback for solar panels or battery installations.
- Barclays – Provides Greener Home cashback through personal loans or a £500 reward towards solar panels or battery installations.
Heat Pumps
- The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) in England and Wales offers grants of up to £7,500 towards the installation of air source or ground source heat pumps. This significantly reduces the upfront cost of upgrading to low-carbon heating.
